Otaru Canal Cruise is a popular activity for visitors to Otaru.
Our approximately 40-minute-long cruises are a great way to learn about the history of the canal and rediscover the romance of Otaru’s past.

The Otaru Canal, which was completed in 1923, is unusual as it was built by reclaiming the sea and the shore.
Most canals are straight as they are built by digging a channel through dry land.
The Otaru Canal follows the curve of the shoreline.
Our canal boats have been designed to match the canal and Otaru’s historical cityscape, and run on environmentally friendly biodiesel and electricity.
Each of our captains will introduce Otaru and the Otaru Canal in their own way, and help to make your cruise a memorable experience.
